Robert Palfrey Utter (1875 – 1936) was an author and professor of English at the University of California—Berkeley.  He is noted as the author of the book, A Guide to Good English


This week’s text, Winter Mist, was included in the book Modern Essays Selected by Christopher Morley (1921).  Utter’s essay compares ice skating for leisure with ice hockey.
