Noah Webster (1758 – 1843) was an American lexicographer, teacher and federalist.  He is most widely known for his American Dictionary of the English Language, first published in 1828.

This week’s text is his essay, An American Citizen (published in October 1787), in which he advocated ratifying the U.S. Constitution.
